Cancellation and booking modification policy

This policy applies to tourist accommodation bookings made directly with Salitre through its website or customer service channels, provided it has been supplied and accepted before the booking is confirmed.

Bookings made through Booking, Airbnb or other platforms are governed by the cancellation conditions accepted on the relevant channel.

Seasonal tenancy agreements intended to provide a home are governed by the conditions of their specific contract.

The cancellation charge is calculated on the total accommodation amount, including occupancy supplements and applicable taxes, excluding the security deposit and additional services not provided.

The periods are calculated by reference to the check-in time stated in the booking confirmation and the local time at the accommodation.

If the amount paid exceeds the applicable cancellation charge, the difference will be refunded. If it is lower, the remaining amount may be required up to the applicable charge.

For cancellations before check-in, the security deposit and charges for cleaning, laundry and other services will be refunded in full where those services have neither been provided nor incurred costs previously disclosed and accepted.

Cancellation must be communicated in writing to the Salitre email address or WhatsApp number stated in the confirmation, giving the booking holder's name and booking number.

The date and time when the request is received will be taken into account. Salitre will confirm cancellation and the financial settlement in writing; the response time will not alter the receipt date.

Changes are subject to availability, the rates for the new dates and Salitre's written acceptance.

Requesting a change does not automatically cancel or modify the original booking. If the change is not accepted and the guest decides to cancel, the charge applicable on the date the cancellation is communicated will apply.

A reduction in nights will be treated as a partial cancellation. The charge will be calculated only on the nights removed, by reference to the original check-in date.

If the guest fails to arrive without having cancelled, a charge of 100 % of the accommodation amount will apply.

Late arrival or early departure at the guest's choice does not entitle the guest to a refund for unused nights, unless agreed in writing or where there is a legally justified basis for a refund.

If Salitre or the accommodation owner cannot provide the contracted stay, an alternative will be offered where possible, which the guest may freely accept or reject.

If the guest does not accept the alternative, or none is available, all amounts paid for the booking will be refunded in full. This refund does not limit any other rights the guest may have by law.

Where an official prohibition, force majeure or another circumstance legally or materially prevents the accommodation from being provided, the solution prescribed by the applicable regulations will apply.

The guest's personal circumstances will be considered individually upon provision of documentation, without guaranteeing an exception to this policy.

Salitre will process any refunds due within a maximum of 14 calendar days from receipt of the cancellation, using the same payment method, unless another method is expressly agreed at no cost to the guest.

Tourist accommodation bookings for specific dates are not subject to the general 14-day right of withdrawal applicable to certain distance contracts.

This policy will be applied in accordance with mandatory consumer rights. Special rate conditions will only apply if they are clearly displayed and accepted before contracting.
