From La Mancha to the Mediterranean
Salitre was born in Águilas, facing the Mediterranean, but its story begins long before, many miles from the sea.
The land I come from
It begins in El Pedernoso, a village in La Mancha, in the province of Cuenca. A place that may seem distant from everything the name Salitre evokes, yet is deeply connected to it. For centuries, its land was associated with the extraction and production of saltpetre, and the village once had its own factory.
El Pedernoso is also where I was born and where my roots are. So, when it was time to name this new project, I chose Salitre knowing exactly why.
The sea beside which I build my future
The name connects two essential places in my life: the land I come from and the sea beside which I am building my future. The saltpetre in the soil of El Pedernoso and the salt the Mediterranean breeze leaves on your skin. La Mancha and Águilas. Where I began and where I am going.
Salitre is also a way of understanding travel. We believe staying somewhere means more than sleeping in a home. It means discovering its identity, meeting its people, tasting its food, walking its streets and taking something real away with you.
That is what we want to offer in Águilas: thoughtfully prepared stays, authentic experiences and a personal way of enjoying the Mediterranean.
Two places. One word.
Our name seems to speak only of the sea, yet it holds a much more personal story. It is a quiet tribute to El Pedernoso and, at the same time, a declaration of love for Águilas.
We can change our surroundings without forgetting where we come from. Salitre is land and sea. Roots and new beginnings. El Pedernoso and Águilas. Two places connected by one word.

How we work
We say how it is
If a date is not free, we say so. If something costs more than expected, we say so beforehand. There is no small print because there is nothing to hide.
Genuinely local
The tradespeople who go into the houses are from here, and the number you write to during a stay is answered by someone in Águilas.
One house at a time
Every property is seen before it is taken on and prepared for what it is. No two are the same and they are not managed as if they were.
