For owners
Put your property in the hands of someone who lives here
Salitre takes care of the house, of whoever arrives and of everything that happens during the stay. You decide how far it goes, and we agree it before starting.
What usually happens with a second home
It's almost never that the house isn't good enough. It's that getting the most out of it is a job nobody has time to do.
It only lets in summer
July and August full, and shut the rest of the year. Águilas has mild winters and people who come out of season, but you have to be paying attention to catch them.
The price never moves
The same rate all year leaves money on the table in August and scares off bookings in November.
The work never ends
Messages at odd hours, keys, cleanings to line up and the washing machine failing on a Sunday. It's a job, and the person doing it for free is you.
No plan behind it
Posting the listing and waiting isn't a strategy, least of all when you're up against every other listing in the area.

It isn't renting: it's adjusting
What separates a property that stumbles along from one that works isn't the furniture. It's what gets done with it every week.
Price that follows demand
We review rates by season, long weekends and local festivals. Not the same price in August as in February, nor the same for a Carnival weekend as for any other.
A listing that's looked after
Professional photography, a description written for the person searching, and the full listing on Airbnb, Booking and Vrbo. A half-finished listing competes badly.
Reviewed, not left alone
We look at what's working and what isn't, and we change it. A listing published and forgotten ages in a couple of seasons.
What we take care of
Not every property needs the same things. These are the services; which ones apply to yours is something we decide after seeing it.
Example service
Getting the property ready
We get the home ready to receive guests, and keep it that way.
How it starts
1
You write to us and tell us where the property is and what it is like.
2
We arrange to see it, with no commitment.
3
We send you a written proposal: what would be needed and what it costs.
4
If it works for you, we get the house ready and publish it.
There is no commitment until you sign, and the proposal we send carries real figures, not an indicative range.
What you can see at any time
A report every month
What was booked, at what price and what it cost. Without you having to ask.
No fixed fees
Salitre charges a percentage of what comes in. We agree the percentage with you before signing, and if nothing comes in one month, you pay nothing.
The house is still yours
You decide which dates you keep for yourself, whether pets are allowed and how far what we manage goes.
Why Salitre and not an agency from elsewhere
- We're in Águilas. If someone has to go round to the house, someone goes.
- A few properties run well, rather than many run halfway.
- The person you talk to is the person looking after your house, not a call centre.
What owners usually ask
What does Salitre do with my property?
Gets it ready, publishes it, looks after arrivals, cleans between stays and sorts out what breaks. Each service is set out on the services page.
What does the management cost?
It depends on the property and on what it needs, so we do not publish a fixed rate. We go through it in the first conversation, with real figures and in writing, before you commit to anything.
Do you work across the whole Águilas area?
Tell us where the property is and we will say whether we can take it on. Salitre is local and works the Águilas municipality, but every house is its own thing and we would rather see it before committing.
How do I start?
With the owners form or on WhatsApp. Tell us where the property is and what it is like, we arrange to see it and we come back with a proposal covering what would be needed and what it costs.
Tell us about your property
The area and four details are enough for us to get an idea. We reply and, if it makes sense, we arrange to see it.
